Kael is the CEO and co-founder of uBiota and a Research Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. For the last 20 years, Kael has been researching computational biology and metagenomics at his current position and as a post-doc at UCSF and a graduate student at UC Berkeley.
Ben is the co-founder of uBiota. He has a long term interest in phage therapy, and as an
Associate Research Scientist in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale
University, he is again studying applications of bacteriophage in the clinic.
Ben did his doctoral research at the University of Utah Department of Biology. uBiota started as a collaboration when Ben was a postdoc in Kael's lab.
